Only one chance to get it right
When considering whether to use fact or fiction in your communication it is not always a question of either/or. This was demonstrated when Great Dane was asked to assist in one of the most difficult communication missions in the health system: The dialogue with next of kin regarding organ donation from a brain-dead patient. For the Danish Center for Organ Donation we developed and produced a series of authentic dialogues between real health care professionals and actors playing next of kin. The cases were built on authentic scenarios, and the objective was to train inexperienced doctors and nurses in this difficuelt disciplines. The result was gripping and not least authentic and thus highly relevant for the target group.
